There are no words for how grateful I am for CBS Training and what they have done for Lucy and myself. Lucy is an awesome dog that since an injury and subsequent surgery has become increasingly fearful of things which was intensifying her flight-fight reactions over the past year and a half. I had been unsuccessful in finding the right training situation to help resolve these issues.
Then I met Andy. I was immediately at ease and relieved that I had finally found the right behaviorist to help both Lucy and I move forward. Because I lived 1600 miles away, the board and train option was best for our situation and I was so grateful that they were willing to take in Lucy. While it was tough to leave her, I felt a great sense of hope. Over the four weeks she was with them, I was consistently kept up-to-date on her progress thru video, calls and texts. During her last week with them, I was included in training exercises which tested my confidence as well as Lucy’s. Ok, more mine than Lucy’s.
It was an amazing transformation. She is still the same dog with a fun personality, but as her confidence increase her fears decrease. I’m still amazed that Andy was able to so quickly assess her issues and then see all the potential in Lucy to be a well-balanced dog. Lucy has even begun to enjoy agility work.
Lucy and I are a work-in-progress, but what I have learned so far is helping me better understand the methods that work best for Lucy. I’m looking forward to working with them in the near future to continue Lucy’s training. I wish I had met them sooner!
